QUARTERLY LITERARY FICTION BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP

NEW!
Are you interested in starting an offbeat book club that meets outside the
library? Ever wanted to start catering to the 20- to 30-somethings that
live in your community?

Come to the next ARRT Quarterly Literary Fiction
Book Discussion, meeting in The Curragh Irish Pub, to learn first-hand about what it’s like to begin a library book discussion that meets in abar.

Our book selection is A Visit From The Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan and we will be discussing tips for creating your own non-traditional book discussion group. Annabelle Mortensen of the Skokie Public Library and Leah White of the Northbrook Public Library will lead this meeting, beginning with a discussion of the novel, which won last year's Pulitzer Prize for fiction.

When: Thursday, April 26, 1:30-3:30 PM
Where: The Curragh Irish Pub, 8266 Lincoln Ave., Skokie, IL

Please register with Annabelle Mortensen AMortensen@skokielibrary.info or Leah White lwhite@northbrook.info.

Food and beverages are available at The Curragh for purchase. Please secure and read a copy of A Visit From The Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan.

All ARRT members are welcome to attend this discussion. There is no fee.

Coordinated by ARRT Steering Committee members Ted Balcom and Debbie Walsh, this group will focus
on a different work of literary fiction four times a year.  ARRT members who wish to join these discussions
must register in advance for each session and secure their own copy of the book.  Meetings will be held at various area libraries.

Each session will last for approximately two hours.  In addition to the discussion, time will be set aside to
learn about the author and to explore background information relating to the book.  The group will also evaluate the discussion experience and share titles for further reading.
