Adult Reading Round Table

Developing Readers Advisory skills and promoting reading for pleasure through public libraries in the Chicago metrop
olitan area.

One of the benefits of ARRT membership is the ability to participate in the ARRT Genre Study.  The current Genre Study Group will be wrapping up Historical Fiction this year.  As the ARRT Steering Committee plans the next Genre Study, we'd love to hear from you on which genre you'd like to study next.  Please follow this link to vote for the topic.

If you know someone who isn't an ARRT member currently, but might be interested in participating in our next Genre Study, please feel free to share this link or email with them.

The ARRT Genre Study Group meets six times a year, every other month, starting in January.  A Steering Committee member leads the group, and there is homework!  Each genre is usually explored over a two-year period.  (While not technically a genre, Graphic Novels is a format which draws its own unique readership.  Please note: a Graphic Novel Study would only be a one-year project.)

You are voting for the topic of the Genre Study topic that will the group will begin studying in January 2013.

NEW!  HISTORICAL FICTION GENRE STUDY

The next genre study assignment is Romance Historical.  Readers are asked to read one Romantic Historical and one Historical Romance.  We have read an Epic (Gone with the Wind) at the beginning of the study but for extra credit you can also read one of these.

The next meeting is at the Skokie Library on June 7, 2012, at 2:00 p.m.
