Hello, Friends! 2009 marked the 25th anniversary of RA programming provided for Chicago-area librarians (and sometimes beyond) by the Adult Reading Round Table. Ever wonder what similar group exist across the country? You may live too far away to participate in ARRT's meetings, but there may be a similar group nearby. Here is a growing list of groups that provide RA programming and training. If you would like to add your group to this list please contact Joyce Saricks at saricksj@gmail.com and we'll post the information here. And if you don't have a group in your area, perhaps this will inspire you to start one! |

Northeast Massachusetts Regional Library System (NMRLS)
RA Genre Study
Hosted at Simmons College, the mission of the NMRLS RA Genre Study is to provide an Introduction to Genre Study, 101. Retreat--1 day-retreat to focus on specific genre, problem, or emerging issue
or topic in RA.

Wisconsin Library Association
has a section called The Reader's Section http://www.wla.lib.wi.us/readers/ Essentially this group provides programming at WLA's annual fall conference, the spring Wisconsin Association of Public Librarians conference and a book discussion at the Wisconsin Association of Academic Librarians spring conference.
