Paranormal Romance

 
Everyone will read:
J. R. Ward  Dark Lover  The first book in her Black Dagger Brotherhood series

AND
Find a second book to read by an author who is marketed and promoted as a paranormal romance writer, and published by a recognizable romance publisher such as Avon, Signet, Harlequin, etc.  If in doubt, double check the imprint and confirm that it is a mainstream publisher.  Please avoid self-published eBooks or books published by small presses.

As you are reading:

Think about how these books compare to the other romance sub-genres we have already read – what is the same, what is unique

Compare the tone, pacing, frame of these books to the SF and time travel books we read for our February meeting

Consider the ending – does it have a recognizable HEA?

If you find that you have accidentally chosen a particularly dreadful one, try to pick up another to compare to it (hopefully with better success!)
