Everyone will read:

Two books chosen after doing ‘homework’ on the www.theeroticreader.com website or other resources you may discover that provide insight on this subgenre, including (publisher’s, blog entries, etc.) Learn as much as you can about this subgenre before making your reading choices. You may need to move slightly out of your comfort zone while reading for this unit, but be conscious of why you are uncomfortable and what that might mean with regard to serving readers of romantica.

Susan Johnson (be careful to chose the ‘right’ Susan Johnson, there are at least two)
Alison Kent
Lora Leigh
Robin Schone

But you will probably discover some other ones…

Samhain Publishers
Venus Press

But you will probably find others…

As you are reading:
Think about which subgenre might align most effectively with each of your choices and compare them to the other titles you have already read (for example is it also suspense, paranormal, inspirational, etc.?) Also consider if your books are like any other literature you read.

If you find that you have accidentally chosen a particularly dreadful one, try to pick up another to compare to it (hopefully with better success!)

Try to find out a little bit about the two authors you choose – be ready to report about other books s/he has written.
